Are You Building Better Business Relationships?

How are your business relationships working out? Are there issues you’re concerned about with co-workers?

It’s certainly true that we don’t like everyone we work with, but getting along and working effectively with others is what we have to do and it’s sometimes a real trick, isn’t it?!?!

Beginning in July, I’m going to post daily info about behavioral styles (we all have them!) and to kick that off, I’m referencing the book The 8 Dimensions of Leadership.
This book is based on the behavioral style assessment we’ve used in personal and leadership development for decades – with lots of success – it’s called DiSC®.
Have you heard of it?
There are plenty of “personality assessments” out there, but my confidence in DiSC® comes from:
·    Experience and success with users of the profile
·    It’s NOT a personality assessment – there are no “bad” styles, but we can all make behavioral adaptations to improve relationships, can’t we?
·    Inscape Publishing’s solid research and validation
·    DiSC®’s focus on a specific world (personal life, business life, etc) – it’s not all-inclusive of your life
·    The specific focus allows you to target exact behaviors you’d like modify (maybe use more of or less of a certain behavior)
I’ll go into more detail as we go through the month, but you might care to check on the book for now. Here’s one review from amazon.com

The 8 Dimensions of Leadership is the first book to explore leadership through the lens of Inscape Publishing's third generation DiSC model of human behavior.

This title is designed to paint an inclusive picture of the varied approaches that make for strong leadership.

It primarily focuses on the interpersonal realm of leadership and helps readers identify which of the eight approaches comes most naturally to them.

The book utilizes and explains the DiSC model to help leaders learn to be more effective in their relationships and leadership roles. Focusing on the reader’s individual approach to leadership, the authors use primary literature and the latest research to support the third generation DiSIC model, which illustrates where different leadership styles fall on a simple circular map. Readers will be able to identify their own approach to leadership, explore the strengths and challenges that leaders with each of the approaches faces, and discover strategies for more effective leadership based on their personal approach.

Give it a try!
Question for you: Are there relationships you'd care to improve? Inyour personal world or your business world?

Always looking for information on folks and how they process. I think I've seen that book- but now it's on my reading list for sure.
Thanks for the introduction.
